PROFILE:

AGAWA RIVERS EDGE: water colour 15" x 22"

Marc Gagnon is a full time artist , employing both the acrylic and water colour medium.
He holds degrees in Environmental Studies and Architecture, from the University of
Waterloo. Marc began painting in 1976 and also practiced architecture for 24 years.
In 2000, Marc was elected a member of The Canadian Society of Painters in
Water Colour and served on it's board of directors for several years.
From 2005 until 2007 he was the President of the CSPWC.

Marc's paintings have been exhibited in numerous solo and group exhibitions and
he has won several awards for his works. In 2004 he was one of six CSPWC members
choosen to be part of the 6th. International Water Colour Biennial held at the
Museo Nacional La Acuarela in Mexico. In 2005 he received the Daler Rowney award
for his painting "Setting The Table", at the 8oth. Annual CSPWC Open Waters Juried
exhibition. Often Marc has been asked to be a juror for art exhibitions. He was
a juror for The Mississauga Visual Artist of The Year Award for three years.

As well as painting full time, Marc also teaches painting, gives painting demonstrations
and conducts workshops at various venues throughout Ontario. In 2006 as President
of the CSPWC, Marc was the host of a major CSPWC painting symposium held in
Calgary Alberta. His workshops are often sold out and are enthusiastically received.
Marc lives in Newcastle along the shores of Lake Ontario and has a home Gallery, (see below).
